Finding a reading methodology

Last night i made the assumption that going through steps for reading is wrong, and i want to refute that here.

What i had been doing was merely timing myself reading, which is vacuous and meaningless, it's purport is to let me know that a lot of reading was accomplished.

But what is gaining ground in my mental spheres is the need to internalize the readings with notes. Some form of note taking.

Some will use a journal

Some put those colorful tabs in their books

others write in the margins

for me i think i will use draft posts, and it will be excruciatingly sketchy at first, because it's not habitual yet, but it is hoped to maximize the beneficial aspects of these books.

Some of my books i marked up quite a bit, the Nietzsche stuff most of all, but those are to put it mildly is mortifyingly cringeworthy. I want to establish a tabula rasa and start anew.

Making use of the resources online - youtube videos on the books, i see one of a lady on The Recognitions just now and is GREAT, i hope more and more booktubers post videos like that. To gain a well rounded view of something with as many reviews and analysis as possible. /// articles and text related stuff is good too.

I sense i should just be narrowing my focus on a few titles till they're done, and they are *drum roll*

The Neapolitan Novels

The Recognitions

and The Atlas & Poor People

ty for your time, as you were .....:)
