Audio Books

If you’re an avid reader what are your views on audio books?

Personally I find it difficult to set time aside to read but since I’ve got into audio books I’ve gone through many books. I retain the information for better than when I read and I guess that’s because I listen consistently whereas my reading is sporadic.

Do audio books enrich your mind in the same way books can?

I don't care for audio books. Especially when the have a famous person reading it and instead of thinking about the main character of the novel and their personality, I'm just picturing the "celeb". 😥

@Fluffybull I know what you mean but Neil Gaiman reading Neverwhere was something else. One of my favs. Although I’m struggling with 1984 (physically read it myself years ago) but listening now with Stephen Fry and it’s not the easiest to concentrate

@Fluffybull haha fair play. He is a bit pompous. I won’t give up yet as I did love 1984. But I’m finding it a bit difficult maybe as I’ve read it previously anyway 🤔
@Fluffybull stephen Fry is a national treasure
