My Challenge - to read 100 to 400 books before purchasing again
July 12, 2022 to maybe the end of 2024??
Current menu
* Thomas Bernhard
* Anais Nin
* Friedrich Nietzsche
* E.M. Cioran
1. Gargoyles - kinda disorienting, like if i don't throw in Nietzsche and Cioran and Nin i might get infected by the madness of the narrator, so ya gotta look out for yourself when reading Bernhard. This however will be the first to be completed, 54% into it.
2. A Short History of Decay - supremely re-readable, like the Tao teh ching for skeptics and nihilists, pessimists. There are perhaps just 2 kinds of people, those who'd be bummed out by this book, and those who'd feel encouraged by it. I am definitely of the latter persuasion.
3. Linotte: The Early Diary of Anais Nin (1914 - 1920) - a little bit every day, like how she wrote her diary is how i'll read it, i had gotten far into it, but am starting all over with all of the diary installments - the early, the main concurrently with the unexpurgated.
4. The Portable Nietzsche - a great overview, which will be followed by the Basic Writings, and then the free spirit series.
