Part of the fun is the planning to get things

And when you make the right choices, they surpass your expectations.

In that spirit i share what i might be getting in 12 days, soon to be 11 days.

The Library of America

these hardcover editions are both real nice on a tactile level, and the content which is some of the best American literature out there

1. Dashiell Hammet
2. Raymond Chandler
3. David Goodis
4. Ross MacDonald
5. Elmore Leonard (this and #4 may be saved for later, on the fence about them, even the Elmore which is a little pricey you get a lot of bang for the buck, i'm just running through the mind whether something else would be even more fun and intriguing.)
6. Richard Hofstadter

other noir novels complementary to #'s 1,2,3,4 and 5

7. Jim Thompson
8. Daniel Woodrell

Wakefield Press

their catalogue looks so enticing, and these would be the first ones i'd get

9. Disagreeable Tales - Leon Bloy
10. The Book of Monelle - Marcel Schwob

a couple 20th century classics

11. Journey to the End of the Night - Louis-Ferninand Celine
