Do you believe Lovecraft was a prophet, not just a story teller?

L Ron Hubbard wasn’t even as good of an author and there is a cult based on his writings. Why not Lovecraft?

Nope, and neither was that fat fuck Hubbard. Lovecraft was a much better writer. Hubbard was a hack, and a jackass.
