Re-reading On The Road by Jack Kerouac. It's 16 years since I last read it and I get something different out of it each time.

@ArtieKat You will also love William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg I guess.

@ArtieKat I was friends with Neal Cassidy when I lived in SF during the 60s. I attended his real funeral near Big Sur when he died.

@helenS I read The Naked Lunch years ago. I liked Howl but never really got into Ginsberg's other stuff.

@greenmountaingal Wow! I'm suitably impressed.

@ArtieKat Did you watch Cronenberg's "Naked Lunch" movie (1991?)?
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@ArtieKat I may write something on here about the funeral and the cremation on the beach.
ArtieKat · M
@greenmountaingal I look forward to that. Were you friends with any of "the crowd"?
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@ArtieKat Yes, Allen Ginzberg. And I knew a lot of interesting Haight-Ashbury people. I worked at the Oracle and lived at Haight and Masonic Streets.

No - some books are best enjoyed as books only
