What did women find so appealing about 50 shades of Gray?

I didn't personally enjoy the 50 Shades books or movie. I felt like it gave the world a very inaccurate depiction of what a D/s relationship is in the real world. I have friends that thought it was risque and naughty but it is not real. Highly fantasized.

I did some research about it, at the time. But, isn't it really about the individual, as opposed to some strict set of guidelines? It's not like there's a school you go to, to get a D/s degree :-)

@Northwest I can only base my observations from being an adult blogger for many years and the people I came in contact through that and the other bdsm couples that we associated in our circles (and 2 different Doms). Many of those that read my blog considered the relationship (64% of respondents at the time that identified in a D/s role) to be an abusive one. I wish I had not decommissioned my Blog because I had some really fun polls and more than a few followers that would come back week after week to comment and participate in games, contests, and blogs. Interestingly I had persons that identified as vanilla (a "sub question " I asked in my polls) thought the Grey series was more real than the BDSM community that followed me. I used to learn so much from my polls on my blog. I really should start a new one.

@Fungirlmmm You mean 64% considered the relationship between the books characters' to be abusive? What do they base that on?

You should restart your blog.
