Loch by Paul Zindel. 6th grade reading level but great story, and I'm serious on great story. Action packed horror about the mythical lake monsters.

@NativeOregonian I discovered him in my early school days. I think he's great even now LOL

@HatandCloak Zindel, and other's were required reading in middle school english class, and I devoured them. There is one book that was a favorite of mine that I cannot remember the name of to save my life. A boy and a girl who are friends think a neighbor killed his wife and they snoop on him because they think the neighbor wrapped her in a rug and stashed her. Another good book was Adrian Mole, aged 13 3/4.

@HatandCloak It was also during the early mid 80's in middle school that I discovered my most favorite book of all time, Dreamsnake by Vonda McIntyre.

Naked Came the Stranger
by Penelope Ashe
This book was written as a hoax. A bunch of famous popular authors got together and created it; each one wrote a chapter. It purports to be a sensationalistic sexy novel. It actually did hit the NY Times list for about 5 minutes before the hoax was discovered. It had me laughing so hard I fell out of my chair.

@greenmountaingal I remember that. The cover was a naked woman from the back.

@bijouxbroussard Yes, that's right! The picture was supposed to be the author, "Penelope Ashe," but it was actually the publisher's wife who posed for it.

Read the Marnie Baranuik Files series by A.J. Aalto, very good books. It's about a woman who is a Revnant's (Vampire's) companion/day sitter in her late 20's who is also psychic and a don't take anyone's shit attitude. The first book is named Touched, I am currently on Blightmare, book number five.
