Which book knocked your socks off?

The one that is currently my favourite is 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I find no words to describe the strange emotions that the author drags you through - very intense and unpredictable.

I agree that was a very good book. I know it got mixed reviews from the critics but I really enjoyed it

I read it before I saw the critics reviews so I was untainted by them and it was a good book.
