Which book knocked your socks off?

The one that is currently my favourite is 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I find no words to describe the strange emotions that the author drags you through - very intense and unpredictable.

@Uncle I am glad I am not the only one - I started reading it by accident, just found it casually lying on the shelf :). I read the first couple of pages and then I just could not stop reading it. Amazing!
