@sumojumo show to them who know that language ..i read shakespeare originals and translated ..the difference between the two is huge .i also read hindi novels by premchand and its english translation ..which is again completely different .when translated the feel is lost ..we relate to story or poems due to common linguistic cultural historical social background which is very less retained in translation ..moeover in poems tge rhyming pattern is lost .

@SW-User That is one of my fears, yes. As some of the comments said, maybe give it a try to write in English. So not a translation per se, but a new poem that tries to capture the essence of the original one.
