Magazine subscriptions...what are they trying to pull?

Count yourself lucky..Once I ordered one from US and it never came it took me months to get my money back.
also.. on the mag/paper thing..
I remember when I was a kid we got the newspaper delivered everyday for years, but we never ordered it, we went to both the local stores and said can we pay for this newspaper that we are getting, one didn't have a delivery guy the other couldn't explain it, we never managed to see the delivery boy/girl, it was the strangest thing.
