Any Stephen King fans?

Why do people look at me weird when I tell them my favorite author is Stephen King?

I want to own his entire collection one day.. I love the Bill Hodges trilogy, but I also loved thinner, I don't think there is one book that I love more then the other ..

@vader2112 I think people are intimidated by his writing because hes so gory, and they also find it hard to follow long (jumping back and forth / switching characters)
