When is the last time you learned a new word ?

And tell me the word if you can remember it.
I just learned "specious" which means :
superficially plausible, but actually wrong.
"a specious argument"
Or
misleading in appearance, especially misleadingly attractive.

Why don't we use that word more ? I think we could call ALL advertisements Specious.

"Specious" is a good word :)

The latest word I learned: sybaritic. It means "self-indulgent, decadent; dedicated to excessive luxury".

Here's a list of words I recently looked up (per my Merriam Webster app):

rancor
lacuna
peripatetic
exergue
eidetic
probity
candent

@SW-User Sybaratic is also a new one for me, as are most of the words you listed. Thanks for that.
