Did common "Biblical names" exist before the Bible?

Everyone knows a Peter or David, but did those names actually exist before the Bible? Were they common then, or were they as common as, say, "Ethan" which is still a sort of common name but not one that inundates every room of people you're in. Or were they completely made up names, like how there was never anyone named Hermione before Harry Potter?

“Hermione” was an old English name long predating Harry Potter. Hermione Baddeley for example, was a character actress who passed away back in 1986.

@bijouxbroussard Alright, "practically unheard of" lol
@TetrisGuy But not “completely made up”, at least no more than any other existing name.

Yeah, I don't read fiction much so I couldn't think of a completely fictional name lol.

BALTHAZAR idk from sorceror's apprentice (the one with tesla coils and nick cage lol)
@TetrisGuy Balthazar’s also a biblical name—one of the Magi, If memory serves. I attended parochial school but have forgotten a lot...🙂
