Did common "Biblical names" exist before the Bible?

Everyone knows a Peter or David, but did those names actually exist before the Bible? Were they common then, or were they as common as, say, "Ethan" which is still a sort of common name but not one that inundates every room of people you're in. Or were they completely made up names, like how there was never anyone named Hermione before Harry Potter?

Yes. Biblical names are just names that appeared in the bible. They weren't created because of it.

@Qwerty14 Ah ok lol. You never see name etymology going beyond "It's a biblical name" lol

I mean Peter does have a further etymology. It refers to stone. lol

@TetrisGuy apparently everything was bad, evil and wrong before the bible! So best forgotten. Unsure the Greeks, Romans and Mesopotamians would agree. Lol

@SW-User Yeah, that's why the romans killed Aristotle and hated knowledge lol
@SW-User Technically stripture and religion is older than Greeks, Romans and Mesopotamia

@TetrisGuy u think.🤔 maybe the stomach cancer was incidental then?

@SW-User IDK where you're getting that from. Math documentaries talked about how aristotle was trying to do a proof in the sand, and romans killed him.

@TetrisGuy like wise, I don't know where you got that from? Socrates was killed, but by a judicial sentence of self poisoning! For educating the youth? Are you confused?

I'm getting my information from the documentary Story of Maths, which debunks lots of misconceptions held by people.

Where are you sourcing your info from?
@SW-User The Bible is actually closer to 3500 years old.
