@Whispering0 He (Dan Carlin) is pretty good at playing with emotions. I couldn't finish his WW1 series because it's too grim, and can't convince myself to start the WW2 series because I'm afraid it'll be Schindler's List + Saving Private Ryan on steroids. But this all is recent history. I immensely enjoy his episodes about more distant past.

Have you watched Vikings? It was the killing of the monks that gave me the nightmare, then them taking them as slaves...and i’m being told to push on in the series! @youinspireme

@Whispering0 No, I haven't. I know of it and can imagine it could be pretty graphic.
Although what seems unimaginably evil for people living in the first world in the 21st century was probably consider an unavoidable part of life 1000 years ago.
