I liked it.

@Spoiledbrat But why?
There are 50 million copies in print. @agenderAbnormality

@Spoiledbrat That's such a shame

@Spoiledbrat It's the only modern dystopian series that gets any sort of credit. If you mention Marissa Meyer or Marie Lu, two other dystopian writers that can actually write, no one has heard of them, but everyone knows about Suzanne Collins
I've read quite a few that are really good. My guess is that the story line and or title caught on and people picked them up. I know it doesn't seem fair. @agenderAbnormality

@Spoiledbrat Because it isn't. The majority of Hunger Games fans refuse to touch any other book
You can't possibly know that. I don't know why you're so bugged by it. It's not like they are not worthy.They are very good books but to each there own I guess. @agenderAbnormality

@Spoiledbrat I have interacted with a very very large number of people exactly like that.
I don't understand what you are getting at. You sound like one of those fan hater peoples. @agenderAbnormality

@Spoiledbrat I'm trying to understand the appeal. It's a good concept for a book, but it was so poorly done that it made me want to claw my eyes out
It apparently did appeal to 50 million people. @agenderAbnormality
agenderAbnormality · 22-25, F
@Spoiledbrat Yes, I'm aware, but I am trying to understand why
You should ask them I told why I liked them. @agenderAbnormality
agenderAbnormality · 22-25, F
Actually you just said that you liked them. You didn't say why.
I said they were very good. Would you like me to write an essay? @agenderAbnormality
agenderAbnormality · 22-25, F
@Spoiledbrat Saying they are good is not a reason, its an opinion
You said you wanted to know why they were popular? I told you what I thought. @agenderAbnormality
When you asked me why, I said there are 50 million copies. They were well written page turning novels. She gave a lot of detail describing the make up and the wardrobes and I could go on. It takes effort and creativity to do that. There are literary guides available on the series. @agenderAbnormality

Statistically speaking, those who dislike the books are approximately 1% of those who have read them. I could have picked you out of a crowd and have been correct saying you liked the books.

Suzanne Collins spent 11 chapters, over half of the book in preparing for the actual subject of the book. She also lacked the proper skills to write a series of fight scenes for which the book is named, and thought that a mushy romance plot that is completely unnecessary to the plot would fit wonderfully in a fight for their very lives. I found every aspect of the book predictable and boring. The characters were severely underdeveloped. The concept was amazing, but it was executed so poorly that I cannot begin to understand why it is as popular as it is even nearly 10 years later.

I understand that these books got many teens to willingly pick up a book for the first time in their lives, but it is likely to be the only books that they will ever touch. As our society moves further and further away from reading, our youth is becoming more reluctant to pick up anything worth reading. Instead they grab a popular book and swear their lives to it as though it is the only book that will ever matter in history.
Get over yourself. @agenderAbnormality
Next time cite your source because I know you didn't write that. http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/the-hunger-games/ I can only give you my opinion. I'm not a book critic but I did really like the books and I told you why. I read all three books. @agenderAbnormality
If you think that kids should read other stuff, you're talking to the wrong person because I don't have any children and I am already well learned. I assure you. I don't want to argue with you about what you think kids should be reading or not. It's not my cause. @agenderAbnormality

@Spoiledbrat

Actually I did write it myself. Maybe check your facts first
How does it feel to be accused of being stupid? @agenderAbnormality
