This engine is used in marine applications so that is partly where I was trained to maintain them ,on ships ,,,but this also powers the 400 series Locomotives and many power plants that still use diesel power ,,if only for back up systems
@KeyTreasure No ,,the shop I worked at is closed now ,all repairs are made in Jacksonville Florida ,or Miami The local power plants don't even run fossil fuel engines there anymore ,,like me ,,they are becoming obsolete I am not able to do that kind of work anymore ,my back is so bad I am happy just to still be able to walk and do enough mechanic work or home repair to help my family Occasionally I will remodel a bathroom or a kitchen for a friend ,turn a garage into another room but mainly just to help people ,,I am not willing to endure the pain any longer to keep pushing myself to do it as a living .. All my kids are grown except my son and he is well taken care of ,,I seen my girls had a chance to go to college I took care of my parents until they passed away ,,now I am done ,,its my turn to take life a little easier let my kids look after Dad ,,and they do ,,,I am a very blessed man ,,and I now have 3 great son in laws and a Grandson to take care of my light work ,,I have finally handed over the reigns
