Well said pickle
Bottom line is no matter what one wears, says or do there will be someone somewhere who will be offended and guess what?
It's my choice to be offended or not offended by others as is others choice as well. For instance If I just offended someone with that statement it was your choice.
Having said that, there are a few not to be joked about and one is Rape and Child abuse.

How do you know what you audience have experienced until they tell you? By then the offence could already have occurred. You will hear many bad and wrong things in life, that's fine but it is up to you whether you repeat them. That's your choice, make it wisely.

The human experience is funny and sad in probably equal measure.
Are there subjects one should refrain from making fun of?
Well whatever your feeling on that one. The only thing you can be certain of is the fact you are bound to upset somebody's sensibilities!!

yeah i don't mean audience as in like on stage i just mean in general :) you can never know about what has happened to people that's why like i said we keep it between us. i wouldn't even make any dark jokes around anyone unless i knew them well. it all depends on their sense of humour i guess as some people are disgusted by certain things
EvilEmily · F
if you make a joke for intention of being funny and not to hurt anyone then humor knows no limits.

it entirely depends on the audience - my friends and i can joke about literally anything no matter how bad it is but we have the decency to keep it between us and not make them public or near people who could have experienced the topic. i personally find rape jokes horrible tho as in high school 2 of my friends were raped it was very traumatic for them and i wouldn't wish it on anyone

Oh gotcha. Sorry for the confusion :)

SW-User
@Springs I agree, but won't that make it hard to communicate with others? For example, when you're talking with someone who is disabled or was raped, You always try not to sound offensive in order not to hurt their feelings right? ?

@XNexoX what kind of death is too serious? Or what kind of people you mean?
Mikeuk14 · 56-60, M
Any death is to serious, no matter the cause.
Mikeuk14 · 56-60, M
Lasting Spring. You show you are very sensitive and have compassion beyond your years. Good girl.

SW-User
@Robynthebeautifull that's exactly my point, things hurt only if we let them.

SW-User
@voyelle care to explain? Didn't exactly understand what you mean

You also have to take into account that you cant take anything seriously on the internet- generally speaking not sites like these where ppl share all soughta of problems and look for support these r exception but look at youtube comment sections etc where people are refered to as cancer and how cancer is now an adjective planted on anything you dont like or is cringey and ppl tell eachother to kill themselves as a joke. Like wtf? The internet is a mosh pit and only those strong enough to deal with that kind of stuff and laugh it off survive unscathed

SW-User
@Mikeuk14 but I believe there's a difference between the death of someone who was killed and the death of a 90 year old . Both are sad but the second one is natural, don't you think?

SW-User
@EvilEmily wish everyone saw it that way. But we are humans

SW-User
@Picklebobble totally agree

SW-User
@Mikeuk14 thank you :)

Not so evil Emily?

i refrain from disabled jokes i think they dont deserve it as their lives are likely hard enough already. its like theres this guy in my village who had acid thrown in his face and everyday people stare at him and its so horrible. however there is a disabled guy in my college and has a username of "the cripple" on Steam so it depends on the person entirely, he himself doesnt mind and makes them himself because he is content on how his life is and has good mates and everything is fine for him. i cant talk anymore i gtg get the bus to college now so cya :) and sorry if ive come across as a piece of shit...i do that sometimes but hey, my friend greets us with the "alright c***s" phrase everyday so everyone has different senses of humor haha, then again were teenagers so its understandable

Death? Depends on who.

SW-User
@Springs it entirely depends on the person. Sometimes I make jokes about blind people, and yes, I'm blind, and I don't mind others joking about it, you can have fun talking about everything. But I can't joke about rape, it's disgusting. And don't worry I like your comments :)
See ya :D

@Springs that's true, I don't think that everyone should use the internet, especially those who don't understand that there are some pathetic trolls who will tell them to kill themselves.
