Yes, easy on the eyes, a picture is worth a thousand words. However, if that person sucks in his her job could be a dealer breaker.

I've read and also heard from profs that people who are beautiful to look at (by the cultural standards around them) do get more respect, better jobs, and higher incomes, statistically speaking.

I think it makes sense... honestly if I find myself between two people at a party and I could strike up a conversation with either one... one of them beautiful, and one of them that I find ugly or unattractive... I'll talk to the beautiful one. And I will be more likely to listen carefully and accept their opinions as valid, up to a point anyway. If I do talk to the "unattractive" person in those circumstances, it'll be out of pity, which is a whole different dynamic. That's my experience anyway.

At the same time, beautiful women (again by the social standards around us) do carry a burden of unwanted attention and sometimes negative stereotypes. It is a mixed bag.

I really don't think so.....although it does result in my dreamily daydreaming about them.
In some ways yes in other ways no.. People can me more liked or more hated just because they look a certain way.. It's not fair but it happens

Frostyflower, so you're saying sometimes their friends are only friends with them because they're good looking?
I'm not sure they do. Just think about all the unwanted admirers and the haters. Its not as easy as it looks

The May sometimes get preferential treatment, but they may also never truly know who their true friends are.
of course they do unless they are trying to avoid detection like in the witness protection program
