Im on the insider program, W10 that will get updated next month for the general public is going to be one of the biggest operating system updates seen before, the endless amounts of features and stability improvements is massive. Its still free to update
GlassDog · 41-45, M
I like it so much that I run it at home, at work, and one on of the tablets. Took a little while to convince me, though.

I hear lots of complaints about it, but I'm using it over 12 months, no problems at all here! it's fine.
[c=#BF0080]Yes, and it was horrible.. switched back to windows 8 but it keeps fighting me to update. 😠[/c]

im on 8.1 ..works well enough for me....and too afraid to upgrade and screw things up
GlassDog · 41-45, M
@cherokeepatti Hehe, yeah. I was talking to someone here about hwo to reverse sound a week or so ago. I use a free piece of software called Audacity which is just brilliant. You can do a million things as well as just reversing. Like I sometimes record something, reverse it, then try to say it backwards and reverse that too. Adding echoes or reverb or some other effect before it's reversed. Hours of fun! :)
Did it, went back to Windows 7. Windows 10 is just too cheesy.

They tried to do it automatically without asking today and I clicked on System Restore and put it back...my computer was slowing down to the point it was stopping. Forcing it on the users is not the way to gain customer loyalty...seriously thinking of getting an Apple computer to replace this one when I get another computer.
Simplegirlstory · 31-35, F
Windows 10 is another synonym of shit.
GlassDog · 41-45, M
@cherokeepatti I hung onto Windows 7 for years and would have been more than happy to stay with it until the bitter end. I don't see you'd get much from upgrading so might as well stick with what you're happy with. I did the same thing with Windows XP and ran it right until it expired (not really very long ago).

Upgraded about 4 months back. I like it; it's better and less glitchy than 8.1. Learning to use it isn't what I'd call user-friendly, but actually using it is better. Nothing has stopped Windows automatic (read: forced)updates that end up crashing systems. In that way Windows will always be Windows.

Nopes I got told not to so I havent

grain1000: they have alienated me by their aggressive tactics to force updating when I clearly don't want it. Enough to make me pay extra and get an Apple and not have to deal with this crap in the future.
RealMustangGuy · 61-69, MVIP
No have not updated. Although I almost accidentally did a few times with how their popup box keeps trying to trick me into updgrading. I use my computer for work, and many of my work programs advise against upgrading.
TheJudgerNautSquared · 41-45, M
Kept wanting me to update then finally just did it itself this morning. I fought at first but then I just rolled over, bit the pillow and imagined a lone penguin on a quiet peaceful deserted island.
toddr13 · 46-50, M
Yes, on a couple of machines, but I do not like it. Then again, I detest 8, so I run 7 and 10, along with Linux and Mac machines.
mg217NJ · 51-55, M
I went from 7 to 10 avoiding the disaster that is 8. 10 is just fine for me.
My Windows 7 doesn't have the needed "apparatus" to update to Windows 10
SW-User
No. I signed up for it but never got that email they're supposed to send for the download
Widower1 · 41-45, M
they did it automaitcally an i didnt like it so went back 2 previous operating system
My husband updated it.. I found it invasive
aqua59 · 61-69, M
Nope. So far what I have seen of 10 is not good.
Cosreal · 36-40
We do not. We went back to Windows 7
xCorvo · 26-30, M
Yea I did, and I think it's fine.
SW-User
Yes I did more than a year ago.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
GassDog: I'd gladly take WindowsXP back again, the feature I really like on it was the sound recorder with the reversing feature....experimented with backwards speech and it was really cool the phrases or words that would be revealed.

too frightened to
Enchanted · 56-60, F
Uh huh... it sucks!
BarbedBerry · 26-30, F
Nope... MacBook here.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I have Windows7 and like it just fine so I don't want to switch. By the time Windows7 is no longer supported I'll probably be needing a new laptop anyway so I might just go for an Apple.
grain1000 · 36-40, M
cherokeepatti, you should just have updated, not harm comes out of updating to W10 and saved you the money buying an apple product.
SW-User
Yeah. I didn't like it initially but now I am used to it.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
[c=#BF0080]Glass Dog: Thanks a million for that tip.[/c]
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Yes. Not much different than before
