the major reason Johnny Cash was so popular was because he was so different to what had gone before him, in a similar way to Elvis. I'm particularly fond of either of their musical productions, but I can respect the fact that made it possible for more musical freedom to be realised, resulting in the huge variety of music we can experience today

He had some good songs, Ring of Fire, Boy Named Sue etc, but I am not a huge fan of his work.
