Staring is his way of trying to show dominance. Typically when a man stares down another man like that he’s trying to i guess “assert dominance” it’s very common in the animal kingdom typically among primates. One male will stare at the other until one of them looks away ultimately showing that one has power. BUT if neither look away it usually leads to a fight because it’s seen as a challenge.
