I Love Pandora Radio

As you may have guessed from some of my previous posts, music is a big part of my life. And since I started listening to Pandora Radio almost four years ago, I’ve discovered so much music that I would never otherwise have known about. It’s amazing how Pandora Radio can find music that you will like ba<x>sed on songs that you clicked thumbs up for. I once went to a town hall meeting where Tim Westergren, co-founder of Pandora Radio, was speaking. I was amazed at how much he knew about music. He knew about so many music genomes (different characteristics of a song) that it was mind-boggling. Using these, he developed special software that can find lots of music that people will like, ba<x>sed on what they’ve already said they like. This has been a very valuable resource for me.

I have only used it once. I must have done something wrong. I typed in a couple of songs and it played just about everything else.

Oh, well, the thing about Pandora Radio that's different from Spotify is that you don't get to pick what song you're going to listen to, but you can create a radio station that plays music by a certain artist, and also music that is similar to that artist's music. Some people don't like it as much because they can't control which song plays next. But it has really been great for me, because it has introduced me to songs and artists that I would have never otherwise heard of.

I have a movie theater system and I have nice speakers to listen to. Television speakers don't sound all that great...lol

Oh, I see. Well, at least you'll be sitting comfortably. Bose speakers are really great, if you're looking for something better.

I have Klipsch speakers and they are pretty good

It's so neat! Two of the favorite artists I discovered are October Project and The Pernice Brothers.
