Words. We are told many of them throughout our lives. We are either taught them and asked to repeat. Or we are labeled and defined with one depending on how many expectations we meet. Time may pass but we never forget. Words. The words others directed our way. The words someone said to us once we didn’t fulfill their every desire. Words do have power. Which is why my goal in life is to deconstruct negative labels. So that you wouldn’t call someone a negative word that you wouldn’t call yourself. Humans will be humans, we can’t change our necessary selfishness towards our drive to survive. Yet our words could use some adjusting. So that less hearts are hurt, and more hearts are mended. In a life that has everyone under pressure to keep up. It doesn’t hurt to call someone a word that will inspire them to keep their chin up.
I recently addressed some words someone said to me quite often. They seemed sorry. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Accept what they said. I know I have said hurtful words to others. This recent one I can learn from too. Words can start wars.
