LadyBronte I think they're out there, but most of us have been conditioned to love ourselves to a degree that we won't make any room for anyone else.
I do include myself, as I once bought the line that you have to love yourself above everybody else.
Having tried that, I don't recommend it,as it makes you very lonely and isolated.
It is definitely okay to stick up for yourself, but if you (people in general)can do nothing but protect self and defend self all day long against every slight ,because you love self so much that leads to isolation and loniness.
We all know people no matter what you say they have to defend themselves and flare up about everything and we all know how unpleasant that is.
Human relationships do need some give and take sometimes, they require a bit of sacrifice, and doing maybe some things we'd rather not.
Of course we're not obligated to do any of that, but then we will reap what we sow and sometimes that is loneliness.
I'm not equating this to you I'm kind of preaching to myself.
