Miss.Sugarman. Who was my teacher when I was about 6 !
One afternoon a week we'd all sit on the floor as she'd read stuff by Milne or Milligan or Lear or some other equally potty poet !
Totally loved the imagery dancing in my head hearing about Sir Brian, Sir Brian, as bold as a lion ! Who went about the villagers and blipped them on the head !'
Or 'The king asked the queen and the queen asked the dairy maid. Could we have some butter for the royal slice of bread ?'
Gave me a love of poetry I've had ever since !

My father. He's the one who bought me both the Shakespeare sonnets and the poems by Langston Hughes when I was small.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.[/b]
