I Like a Good Quote

Archie Cumings

He is long since gone to be with the Lord. I met him in 1992 in Michigan, a wonderful and dear man, a retired school teacher, a handicapped Christian, who typed with just 2 fingers. He shared a lot with me by letter and later by Email.

I found his letters and will start to share observations he has made and truth he forged with his mind and life experience. I found his writing always helpful and encouraging. May his thoughts encourage you also.

Do not give up when things go wrong. Let it be the challenge that spurs you on to new ideas / new solutions which will lead to success.

It is better to keep your mouth shut, than to set the stage for an actor to twist your words into a falsehood.

After night’s darkness the beauty of the sunrise will come.

When we say we don't read the Bible because we cant understand it, could it be, that since we don't follow what we do understand, we don’t want to learn more? The more a concept is practiced, the more proficient one becomes, and with it a greater capacity to Iearn.

You have heard it said, “It's only a drop in the bucket.” Don’t ever feel that what you do, even though it may be small, is not important. A bucket, minus that drop, is never completely filled.

Many people add and subtract to what the Bible says. They also debate on what "God was saying this or that". And where God does address an issue people use their own supposition or conjecture and come up with their own theories and after awhile The Word gets skewed.

So, let's read and try to understand its meaning and leave the rest behind.

The Bible is not difficult to understand if you train your mind on hearing truth..there is absolute truth and our truth...may we follow the path that leads to life!

@Dreammmer: our truth, what we perceive is truth based on our own perception, but is it the absolute truth found in the Bible?
Dreammmer · 56-60, M
@Raffie: I dont find the term absolute truth in the bible and I am hesitant to distinguish between one truth and another. There is only one truth, the truth of Christ that sets people free to live with Him and His word. The rest is opinion, perception, assumption and the like. Thank God, that His spirit leads us into all truth.

@I totally agree. The spirit of God is the only truth, but many listen to their own truth which leads them astray.
