Before we become someone’s partner, someone’s parent, someone’s friend, someone’s support or someone’s everything, we are our own person.
And there is something incredibly beautiful about remembering that.
We arrive in this world with our own heart, our own spirit, our own dreams, our own thoughts and our own beautiful individuality. We shouldn't have to surrender these to belong, to be loved, or to be accepted.
We can love deeply without losing ourselves.
We can stand beside others without stepping away from who we are.We are not owned by anyone, nor should we be.
We can give generously without forgetting our own needs.
And we can create meaningful connections while still honouring the person we are becoming.
Never underestimate the beauty of knowing yourself. Of enjoying your own company, nurturing your interests, following your creativity and allowing your heart to explore all the things that bring you alive.
You are not here simply to fill a role in somebody else’s life.
You are here to experience your own.
And darling, what a beautiful thing it is when we learn to walk through this world with an open heart, a gentle spirit and a strong sense of who we are.
Belong to yourself first. Love others beautifully, but never lose the beauty of being you.
Perhaps today, we can give ourselves a little moment to simply be. To listen to our own hearts, embrace who we are and gently remember that we, too, deserve the same love, kindness and understanding we so freely offer others.
