My heart is not for taming

My heart is not for taming,
It's always been wild and free,
It's got me in some dilemmas,
But it's the purest part of me.

It's always been wide open,
I've often worn it on my sleeve,
Always living with faith and hope,
In my truth, I truly believe.

But at times it has been painful,
As not everyone is the same,
Some see it as a weakness,
And treat it as a game.

I've tried to reign it in, at times,
And keep my spirit at bay,
But it really didn't work for me,
I'm.just not made that way.

So I'll carry on the way I am,
It's brought more good than bad,
Because to change the natural way I am
Would make me rather sad ..
