Normally I dole out a quote when logging off.

Today however I'm shaking things up.
Roy T. Bennett is a self-help, motivational author and offers this quote

"Guard well your thoughts when alone and your words when accompanied."

What is your take on that quote?

I say guard your thoughts and personal life. Don't tell everything you know. People can take advantage of that and use it against you later, if they so choose to be that type person. Keep your privacy and guard it well. People don't need to know everything about you, in order to like you. A person who guards themselves this way are less anxious and happier. Be careful of who you trust.
@LadyGrace There's a lot of sound advice in your comment, and I thank you!
@onrealityofdreams thank you. I appreciate that. I would just add one other thing.

Keep your enemies close. Then you know what they're up to. That does not mean you hang around them but keep an eye on them.
@LadyGrace Very good additional advice!

Be the gardener of your mind in solitude, and the gatekeeper of your tongue in company. It's a great reminder, honestly and I am guilty.
@mindstruggle I like your wording more.
