'New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings' ~ Leo Tzu

I am happy, but sad. A very dear and close friend of mine is finally happy. After spending 14 years in a dead-end marriage and 4 years of post divorce wilderness, he has finally found the love of his life and I couldn't be happier for him, except for the tiny little detail that dictates every platonic male-female relationship: when one finds a significant other, the other party has to accept the demotion of number 1 to somewhere down the list. And that's cool, that's the way it's supposed to be, but it doesn't change the fact that I am feeling the sadness of letting go and the anxiety of the reorder that is to come.

I am ecstatic for my ex-husband, and was glad to finally meet and welcome this lovely lady into our family this weekend.

Ahhh.... The punch line at the end explains it all... Now we just gotta find a decent bloke for you!

Ha! Hmmm. I left my marriage with the thought that even if I never find 'the one' I would be happy, and even though loneliness stings sometimes, I still keep that resolve...life is far more peaceful being alone, rather than being with the wrong one.

Yep... I can see that. Still, I'd like to think that there might be someone out there for you.... even if just a FWB,, :)) ;)
