relationships have a tendency to make people hate each other. once the break up is complete, the hate dissipates as time goes on. well...... in most cases.
I don't know your situation but maybe he showed up in the beginning when it was new and fresh. Then maybe stopped trying, and realized he had to try again when it was too late?
