God’s prophet Moses knew the answer to this question
Hebrews 11:24
“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;”
Hebrews 11:25
“Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;”
He knew sin was only pleasure for a season but chose this:
Hebrews 11:26
“Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
*Sin is still sin either overtly or covertly!

So we are all born into sin (inbred sin), our fallen nature. God wants to revive all mankind to new life or fellowship with him!
Children are innocent of this inbred sin til they reach accountability (aware of their consciences). After accountability they must repent as all human being have been commanded to do. So you see the inbred sinful nature causes all to sin by their deeds, actions and thoughts.
As sure as we live and breathe, we’ve all committed sin/s because of our fallen nature, til Jesus restores us to fellowship with him. Doesn’t mean we’re not capable of sinning if we choose to, but we shouldn’t desire that.
A true, born again person does not ‘habitually’ sin.
If they do, they are not following Jesus.
But they will surely slip as none but the Savior is perfect. All they have to do is confess their sin to the Lord, and not a mere man in Godly sorry and he will forgive and forget! They just get up and dust themselves off and get back on the path and follow Jesus. If we follow him, he will lead us and guide us in all truth, and we become more like him… as the song says, “trust and obey, for there’s no other way…

Is there only “SIN” or there are different categories of sin?
Let me show you sin as the Bible lists it.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Matthew 5:28

28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
*Inbred sin causes sin in the heart… entertain doing it…
*The actual act is the committed sin.
*And sin, when it is finished brings death
Proof
King James Bible James 1:15
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
(This is an example but same principle for any sin.)
No categories of sin. If Jesus called it sin , or the Bible names it as sin, it doesn’t matter if done in the dark or openly, it is still sin.
But the consequences of sin can be greater for certain sins as far as mankind is concerned….Life in general teaches us this. God holds all men accountable for all sin big or small …
Compare murder and child abuse/ molestation to lying, or coveting. But all sin has consequences
