Musicman · 61-69, M
I have never been to any of them. I would love to visit Vegas one day.
@Musicman I lived in Las Vegas for five years, it is not for the faint hearted, learn to take the back roads, the Strip is a nightmare, specially at night during the weekends, pedestrians do not obey the walk/don't walk signals, it can take two plus hours to drive just a few miles.

@NativePortlander1970 I would like to see it one day.
@Musicman Bring a massive bank roll, a dinner buffet can cost $60+

@NativePortlander1970 Maybe we should just eat in the motorhome. Truth is I probably will never see it. ☹
@Musicman Sam's Town casino resort on Boulder Highway and Nellis does have an RV park, with a Walgreen's across the street.
@Musicman You can visit the grand canyon and Hoover Dam on the way there.

@NativePortlander1970 Good deal! I am definitely not paying high dollar to stay in a fancy hotel.

@NativePortlander1970 I would love seeing those. I would love to see all of America. 🙂
@Musicman I think they're Sam's Club, they mught take KOA as well.

@NativePortlander1970 Excellent suggestions! That's where I usually start. Some of the casinos have RV sites too and let you stay.
@Musicman Sam's Town is the only one in LV that I know of, my older brother rented a gas pusher RV a couple of years ago, they stayed at Sam's Town. They wanted to go to a Strip restaurant called Peppermill, but when they saw how bad the Strip traffic was, went to an In N Out off Strip instead. I took my brother to the Peppermill in 2010 when he came to visit me after my late ex fiancee died, the same brother that has my rifle.

@NativePortlander1970 Did he enjoy the dinner? He definitely owes you for the rifle.
@Musicman He got a bacon cheeseburger, that cost $28 in 2010.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 Ouch! That would easily be double today.
@Musicman Looks like they dropped their prices...

@NativePortlander1970 That Baja burger doesn't look bad. 😋
@Musicman Definitely not for the weak.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 No it isn't. I had a chicken sandwich for lunch today with jalapenos. Sadly this particular restaurant has wimpy jalapenos. ☹
@Musicman Those are the worst kind

@NativePortlander1970 Used to be able to get reasonable rates for rooms and scout around for meal deals or decent buffets. Those times are just a memory now.
@cherokeepatti When Vegas threw out the mob and went corporate, that's when everything went to hell. I was a security officer at Caesars Palace in 2006, the casino manager was there since day one in 1966, he said back in the day they were treated like family, now they're just numbers.
