Genuine Question

What’s the actual appeal to home ownership? I’m on a mission to go my whole life without mowing a lawn.

Usually mortgage payments are less than rent. You get your money back (minus the interest) when you sell. No one can tell you what you can do with the space.

You can hire someone for the lawn. Or xeriscape so you don't have to mow.

@Pinaymom when you factor in property taxes and hiring a landscaper+being financially responsible for repairs it’s cheaper to rent in my city

@IloveLucy That's an unusual city. But the rent money still doesn't come back to you, and you still don't have freedom in your own home.
