@LadyJ There is a website that collected loads of stuff on this case; facts, opinions, copied documents, all sorts. There is some rubbish but there is loads of good stuff if you want the link I'll find and post it (worthwhile if you have hours to read)
TLDR answer is one of her parents gave her a drug to make her sleep and she died in her sleep, when they found out they hid the body and concocted that load of nonsense (opinion) that we have seen. The body is out there somewhere in Portugal within driving distance of Praia da Luz.

@Wiseacre No, they have been afforded unprecedented generosity by the legal system, anybody else would've been charged with child abandonment but this hasn't just been ignored cursory 'investigations' have taken place into it and dismissed so when challenged it can be said it was investigated. A number of people took private prosecutions out against them and were charged with misdemeanour crimes. How the McCanns got out unscathed is unbelievable.
