And the question of the day is...

What is "a cuppa"? Is it a proper cup of British tea, a mug of tea, an America cup or mug of coffee, or...?
JustNik · 51-55, F
In my mind, it’s a lovely flowery little china cup and saucer that inspires your pinky to rise in homage to the stiff upper lip you might have forgotten you had. No tea bag would dare come near it for the sacrilege would surely topple civilization. It shall be a proper brew, and if you insist on milk, it had best go in first. This will be served on a tray in a quiet room or garden perhaps accompanied by dainty cucumber sandwiches or a plate of assorted biscuits. 😌

I am aware I can never go to England.

Traditionally a cup of tea, but can be used to refer to a cup of anything -- though usually I'd explain a cup of what when not "talking British".
A tea, served in a builders mug, the colour of a badly matched (orange) fake tan. Best served with the bag still in.
@Ontheroad It's not a fancy tea cup that comes with a saucer. It's big enough to get 3 fingers through and be hugged

@Ontheroad I like coffee,my Mom was more influenced by her☘️ Mom

@bookerdana I didn't have my first cup of tea, or really it was a glass of tea, until I was in my late 30s and in Egypt. Nobody in my family or any friends drank it.

@Ontheroad The menfolk in my family were 💯 coffee🤷‍♂️

Question of the day here is.....why am I back in ER with my mom for the gazillionth time in a row?
Ontheroad · M
@Rilyn because neither of you had a cuppa this moring?

Seriously though, I hope it isn't anything too serious.
I alwaus thought a "cuppa" was a 'cup of' something:
- cuppa soup
- cuppa coffee
- cuppa tea ...etc🤷‍♀️

In anything from a fine nine china teacup to a thermos mug .

@OogieBoogie see, that's it... it could be anything really, and that's what gets me to thinking when I read "had a cuppa" and they don't say a cuppa what!

Don't leave me hanging!🤣

Yeah, I'm weird.

@Ontheroad Unqualified it would always be tea.
Ontheroad · M
@ninalanyon that's what I expected, but I see there are others who are heathens like me😁
Thodsis · 51-55, M
It's one of those Pokeyman toys...
Ontheroad · M
@candycane Well then, that settles it. Both the posh traditionalists and the heathens can enjoy a cuppa😁
