@Suthysmoothisloth - I think that with glasses they're worried they might come off in the pool, leaving you unable to find them, and potentially causing someone a minor injury - nowadays there's no glass to be broken, so at least it isn't because of that!😅
As for laser surgery, I'm not sure how many months or years you have to wait before swimming without goggles after having that done😱
Maybe never - they make a flap on your cornea and lift it up so they can aim the laser inside ... 😳

You're not supposed to use contact lenses in pools or the sea - the water isn't sterile, bacteria could breed behind the lens, hey presto you could end up blind (or with half an eye/no eye)😳
If you're not going to get your face wet it's ok though ... but you DID ask specifically about swimming!😉

When I used to wear contacts I wore goggles over the top if I was going to get a wet face ...😕
Most pools ban glasses as well, so as a kid I used to be blind as a bat when I went swimming!😅
Now I'd wear my glasses anyway, OR invest in proper prescription goggles if I really wanted to swim properly and get my face wet 😎

Contacts and non prescription goggles if I'm swimming for exercise, if it's just for fun then just contacts
