It would be nice to have a woman who wanted me, one who could take care of herself if needed but who would let me take care of her if I wanted to because it’s nice to feel needed but it’s also nice to know that I have a partner who would be willing and able to share the burdens of life when the situation warrants it.

I’m not sure. But I do man stuff. I fix most anything. Cars. appliances. and even my furnace. My wife is good. Got married had children at 22 and 23. Now we have grandchildren 4. Living at home. It’s crazy all over again. We to old for this.

I feel that if you changes weak to subordinate and strong to partner you could do so without changing the meaning in this context.

In that idea I would prefer a partner to a subordinate. I definitely know men that like the weak (subordinate) type of women I think the entire notion of a southern bell- "save me save me save me" personality is a cultural representation of that idea as well as others.
