Probably for the same reasons cartoon creators and actors in children movies and series crave an audience of children: because they want to make a positive impact in their life.
Gee, if only Mr. Rogers or Capt Kangaroo had thought of being drag queens on their kids' shows, they could have had an even larger positive impact than they did. 🙄🙄🙄
