Carissimi · F
I created it during my romantic novel period, in 2011, when I joined EP. Little did I know that it’s a real name with a meaning.
@Carissimi I just googled it. Does the Italian meaning describe you?
Carissimi · F
Well, it can mean “dear,” or “dear one,” in Italian, as well as the surname of some Italian guy. I also found from some obscure source, years ago, that it means “beloved” in Latin. Whether that’s a fact, I don’t know, but I like it best, so I’ll go with “beloved,” or “dear one.” What did you find? @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi other than the surname of an Italian composer, as an adjective it can mean “expensive” or “dear”
Carissimi · F
I never heard of “expensive” as meaning “dear,” with this translation. It was more a term of endearment, but who knows. I’m sticking with “dear one.” No, I’m not expensive. I prefer a simple life of comfort, without all the bells and whistles. @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi well, beloved is also a meaning, so that’s a nice one.
I’m not flashy either. Except for my piano tie I’ve had since highschool. Can’t seem to let that one go 😁
Carissimi · F
I’m sure it has sentimental value, and we are allowed the things we love. Yes, I like “beloved” best. It’s more romantic, and fits the time I created the name, although I didn’t actually create it, it already existed. I just didn’t know it. @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi it definitely stands out. Are you Italian?

No. It came from my variation on a name in a romance novel between an Italian aristocrat and an English Lady. I think he called her “Carissama,” but that name was taken when I joined EP, so I made it Carissimi. Like I said, it was during my romance period. I was a born romantic, but life has knocked it out of me, so the name no longer fits me, but I’ve had it so long, it’s like it’s a part of me now. @Ghostinthemachine
Carissimi · F
Are you saying that I’m Canadian because I’m not. @SW-User
@Carissimi What/How do you define your Romantic period?
Carissimi · F
Any time pre 2016. @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi what ended it?
And am I asking too many questions?
Carissimi · F
It’s too complex to explain, but let’s say the life of hard knocks extinguished the flame. @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi I am sorry to hear that.
I hope you find the strength to move on, because life can be beautiful
Carissimi · F
I have moved on ... many times ... but that part of my life is over. I’m also old and ugly, so I came to the end of the road where romance is concerned. It is what it is. @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi you’re only as old and ugly as you feel, my dear
And you can change the way you feel 🤗
Carissimi · F
I disagree. You are as old as you look, and you are as ugly as you look. I don’t wear rose tinted glasses, but reality ones. @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi I've seen good looking people appear very ugly, and modest looking people shine beautifully, all because of the way they acted
Carissimi · F
I think we have all experienced this, but it still has no bearing on my reality. Just accept my word for it, please. @Ghostinthemachine
@Carissimi I do, and I mean to cause no upset or harm
Carissimi · F
Thank you. 🙏@Ghostinthemachine
