Random thought: Teleportation would likely involve disassembling your entire structure, and reassembling it elsewhere.
Imagine if you reassembled in a place with a lot of flying bugs, and had to assemble around them. Now you have all of those bugs inside of you. Potentially taking the place of your cells that should be in those positions. No bueno.
And that's getting off easy. Bigger stuff could be much worse
