If you could travel back in time, do you believe you could alter the timeline by interfering?

If you believe it's possible, would interference change the future, or would it create an alternate timeline that coexists alongside the others?

If you are going back as energy meaning the present you inhabits your younger body then I believe you would change the timeline but if you go back in body and spirit then I think you would just create a new timeline.

@Stereoguy I know Seth McFarlane loves this stuff, and it's incorporated into his shows, such as Family Guy. That's actually how I learned about causal loops.

@Stereoguy For example, Stewie travels back to before the Big Bang. He overloads the return pad and returns to present time. He then discovers that the background radiation was from his return pad, which means he created the universe.
