Yes an Uncle of mine in HK contracted it - fortunately he pulled through thanks to the amazing efforts of the Doctors and Nurses. Anyone who makes light of it or thinks it’s a hoax needs their brain examining

I know one who was severe enough to the point of requiring oxygen supplementation, at home since hospitals back then were full here. The pneumonia took almost two months to fully recover.
I know one who had intense cold-like symptoms, lasting roughly one week and a half, and nothing more than that.
And finally I know someone who tested positive multiple times but was completely asymptomatic.
(All of them officially confirmed with both multiple PCR/swabs and serological tests)

my stepdad’s family had it. his brother is in his mid 50’s and had no symptoms...guy has a daughter in her 20’s who did have symptoms but not overly severe as it went away in a week. son also got it, similar to sister but a little less bad. his wife/their mother didn’t catch it at all lol.

I talked to two colleagues... and both told me it is brutal... like breathing glue for a couple of weeks.... not being able to sleep because the breathing is hard work...
I talked to several people who lost a relative, and all of them have horror stories to tell.. some of them died after more then 5 weeks in intensive care...

I know of a few people that have passed from it and a couple of neighbors who had it but recovered. One friend of a friend who was in her early 30s ,married with two children and unfortunately passed. That was the most devastating one to hear about. And a young man in his late 20s living in my in laws neighborhood with no preexisting conditions that also passed.
