How can an introvert person make friends?

How can we know the other person is suitable or have a good chemistry with us?

Suddenly I am craving to have a friend. ☹

It’s not a light switch thing. Is there a change that can take place? I see it as a wiring issue.
Introversion isn’t being shy.
I work with groups of people, I actually love what I do..
After working with them , I need to be alone...it’s a draining experience
