Irony:
This is a great Question!

Whoever posed this question has good insight into the ironic double standards of modern society.

The Judges who said we don’t need to stand up for the National Anthem expect us to stand up when they enter the room.

What do you suppose would happen if the Judge came into the courtroom and everyone "took a knee"?

I never ever thought about that before ... ever. Now that I have there's an excellent chance if I go anywhere near the US Supreme Court I'll be jailed for contempt.

I do not for a second believe the government has any business punishing anyone for not respecting or disrespecting symbols of our country...the anthem, the flag. That sort of honor is useless if not given voluntarily.

Nor would I interfere if their employer imposed fines or suspensions. They're on the clock. Boss rules, as long as it is applied with exact fairness. It would be interesting to see who would win and at which point? It would stop as soon as the financial crunch got too strong for somebody, but I couldn't guess which, management or players.
