The Queen is Dead

Queen Elizabeth II died today (September 8, 2022), aged 96, after 70 years of service.
I am not British, but I have always had the utmost respect for this remarkable woman.
When it was about self-discipline and performance of one's duties this lady has always been my role model. Always doing what had to be done. A person from an era when honesty meant much more than money, and perhaps even more than life.
Sad news.
Sit tibi terra levis, Queen Elizabeth. 😕

No matter what you think of the monarchy as an institution, no one can deny the remarkable sense of duty and sacrifice at which she performed her duties to the utmost of her abilities tirelessly.

She understood she was privileged so she did not whine and complain.

RIP

Such an elegant and noble queen. She was the longest reigning monarch in the United Kingdom. May she rest in peace. 😞

Easily as predominant as Elizabeth the First and Queen Victoria. Should I call Prince Charles king now or is that after coronation?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic He is technically King now; no break in the crown is permitted. Formalities to follow. We will miss the Queen.
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
@Pfuzylogic One may refer to him as the king, the swearing in ceremony takes place immediately after the death of the reining monarch. The formal ceremony will be later.
Elizabeth was anointed Queen in the jungles of Africa on the death of her father.

I saw later on the news that he was King immediately. I decided to be respectful to someone that care deeply for the Queen.

Sorry, Helen, but it's a fact, not a possibility. On his mother's death Charles immediately became King and his oldest son, Prince William, became first in line to the throne. Charles had a choice of which of his christian names he chose to rule under and opted for King Charles III. He will be known as that even before his coronation.

Thank you for your kind words, she will be missed.
