I have a dream speech 💖

in August 1963 on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial...

We have come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now.
Now is the time to rise from the dark, desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice.
Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.
Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.
I have a dream that one day every valley will be exalted and every hill and mountain made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.
With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.
With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together knowing that we will be free one day.

A great man taken too soon..

I have to wonder how much more good he might have accomplished if he had only been left among us..

I feel the same way about Robert F. Kennedy, who was running for President in 1968, and was assassinated two months after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed. There was a very strong likelihood that Kennedy could have gotten the Democratic nomination for President, and he would have faced Nixon in the 1968 election. If Robert F. Kennedy had been elected President (instead of Nixon), think how different history would have been. The Vietnam War could have ended sooner, there would have been no Watergate scandal, and so many more positive things.
Both great men and outstanding leaders! 💙💖@Byron8by7
